These are the most important steps to take to prevent mold from forming in ANY washing machine!
If you have a top load washing machine, you don’t have to worry about the gasket, but you should still be leaving the lid open when not in use and running a washing machine cleaner through it once every month (or once every 30-40 washes). Some top loaders even have detergent dispensers that should be dried out and left open when you’re done using the washer for the day! Always refer to the user manual for your model of washing machine for use and care instructions specific to your washer.
