This is also true for other detergent remaining in the detergent dispenser, but it’s a common complaint that’s often wrongfully associated with the pods themselves. I know from both professional AND personal experience that if you don’t block the dispenser and you handle and store the pods correctly, they’ll work correctly!
Also worth noting: some dishwasher detergent dispensers SLIDE up rather than FLIPPING up, which helps to ensure that the door will at least OPEN during the cycle, even if it’s blocked.
