The installation instructions can be found online (for free!) on most manufacturer&#8217;s websites by looking up the model number.  From there, you can do a visual inspection, and if it&#8217;s not installed correctly, you can contact whoever installed it to fix their mistake.  If it doesn&#8217;t wind up being an installation issue, most full-sized residential appliances sold in the U.S. have a one year warranty from the date of purchase, so contacting whoever you purchased it from would be the next course of action!</p><p>As far as repairs go, whether or not ANY repair is &#8220;worth it&#8221; is entirely up to YOU!  You have to take into account the cost of the repair, the time it will take (versus the cost and time it would take to buy a new one), how much money you&#8217;ve ALREADY invested into it, and whether you even like your current appliance to begin with! I&#8217;ve also had a handful of customers and have spoken to many of my followers who have personally experienced this phenomenon!  Dishwasher manufacturers (to be specific, manufacturers of full-size residential dishwashers) will even tell you to SCRAPE off large bits of food from your dishes into the trash or compost before loading your dishes into your dishwasher, but DO NOT RINSE.  </p><p>As for dishwasher detergent sheets, they&#8217;re just as much of a scam as laundry detergent sheets.  Which is to say that they cost more per ounce of product than the majority of other forms of dishwasher detergent, but it&#8217;s still the same ingredients. If the shutoff valves on the house-side of your washing machine&#8217;s connection to your water supply are old and don&#8217;t shut the water off properly, disconnecting the water lines can quickly become a plumbing EMERGENCY.  </p><p>Long story short, if you think you&#8217;re going to save money by doing this instead of hiring a professional, you may wind up spending more money trying to DIY than if you had just called the pros to begin with. These spherical bits of lint form as tiny bits of lint makes its way inside the dryer&#8217;s &#8220;baffles&#8221; (the fins inside the drum that help the clothing tumble as it dries).  As the dryer tumbles, the tiny bits of lint tumble around inside the baffles, slowly forming round spheres, or &#8220;pearls&#8221;.  </p><p></p><p>These &#8220;pearls&#8221; are most commonly found in dryers with clogged venting and/or lint traps.  In a normally functioning dryer, the majority of dryer lint is blown out through the lint trap, and anything the lint trap doesn&#8217;t catch is then blown through the venting to outside.
